SSR beras dipertingkat kepada 75 peratus pada 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Kadar sara diri (SSR) beras negara akan dipertingkatkan kepada 75 peratus menjelang 2025 menerusi inisiatif SMART Sawah Berskala Besar (SMART SBB).
Timbalan Menteri Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan, Chan Foong Hin, berkata di bawah SMART SBB, produktiviti padi akan dipertingkat menerusi Model Mini Sekinchan dan projek rintis penanaman padi lima musim dalam tempoh dua tahun.
"Matlamat pelaksanaan Program SMART SBB adalah untuk mencapai SSR beras negara kepada 75 peratus menjelang tahun 2025 dan 80 peratus menjelang tahun 2030", katanya pada sesi soal jawab lisan di Dewan Rakyat, hari ini.
Beliau menjawab soalan Datuk Mohd Isam Mohd Isa (BN-Tampin) yang mahu mengetahui jenis tanaman serta ternakan yang sedang diberikan tumpuan bagi menambah baik Tahap Sara Diri supaya dapat meningkatkan keterjaminan dan mengurangkan kebergantungan import makanan.
